Claudia Rosciglione

Abstract

his essay is about how Nietzsche understood the concept of causality and the relation between cause and effect in his Weltanschaung. So I will bring out how Nietzsche’s criticism of principle of causality is aimed at a specific way of understanding it, that is an anti-naturalistic and methaphysical way in antithetis with the Nietzschean naturalistic vision of the world. It is possible to understand what Nietzsche said about causality and relation between cause and effect only within his complex interpretation of the world and the relation between human being and nature. In that context I will analize how Nietzsche takes up the Hume’s criticism of causality and in wich sense he shares a skeptical attitude with the English philosopher.
